JENSON KOH – HEAD COACH

 

Studio Operations, Drums, Cajon, Hand Percussions

 

Jenson’s career started early as a professional drummer at age 19. His wealth of performing and teaching experience encompass almost two decades as a performer, drum instructor and as a composer. His efforts have been chiefly directed towards educating and motivating the next generation. His unique approach to teaching focuses not only in the principal instrument of drums, but in music as a discipline.

MEL FERDINANDS

 

Guitar (Classical and Electric), Ukulele, Bass, Vocals

 

Singer, songwriter, author, Chairman (elected Writer Director) of COMPASS (Composers and Authors Society of Singapore), Mel has been performing for more than 40 years in the Singapore Music Scene. Conducting guitar (acoustic and electric), bass, ukulele and vocal lessons at Studio 72, Mel caters to the individual needs and aspirations of his students to bring each and every one the possibility to achieve their own personal goals and targets.

MEL FERDINANDS

Singer, songwriter, author, Chairman (elected Writer Director) of COMPASS (Composers and Authors Society of Singapore), Mel has been performing for more than 40 years in the Singapore Music Scene. Conducting guitar (acoustic and electric), bass, ukulele and vocal lessons at Studio 72, Mel caters to the individual needs and aspirations of his students to bring each and every one the possibility to achieve their own personal goals and targets.

LILY HARGROVE

 

Vocals

 

Lily Hargrove’s humble beginnings started when joined the SAF Music & Drama Company in 1997. During that time, she was the stand-in singer for Kit Chan during National Day 1998 Preview, performing live in front of a 60,000 crowd at the old National Stadium. Since then she has done various vocal recordings as well as live performances with local and international acts such as SRT, Jack Neo and Jeremy Monteiro. She was featured in NDP 2007’s song, Will You. She has also vocal coached local acts such as Olivia Ong, Novabelle Ng and Ryan Sufiyan.

 

Lily Hargrove gives the world the story of a song for anyone to relate.

JEDEDIAH LAM

 

Drums, Cajon

 

Jedediah started playing the drums when he was 17; initially a self-taught drummer, he then went to New York at the age of 23 to further his drum studies at the Drummers’ Collective institution. During his studies in New York, he was exposed to many playing opportunities, different cultures, and as well, studied with many experienced teachers such as Ian Froman, Kim Plainfield and Tobias Ralph. Under the intensive training and guidance from the institution, he completed his 2 and a half year Diploma program at the age of 26.

 

Upon his return to Singapore, Jed has taught students of ages between 6 to 45 years old. Jed is proficient in genres such as Contemporary Jazz, Hip Hop, Funk and Pop/Rock. He has 7 years teaching experience, and has been performing for 5 years in places such as, Wala Wala cafe bar, Warehouse @ Clarke Quay, and Esplanade, to name a few.

VINNIE GONZAGA – INSTRUCTOR

 

Piano, Keyboard, Ukulele, Guitar, Vocals

 

Vinnie began his teaching career as early as 1975. His teaching experience incorporates various instruments such as the piano, keyboard, guitar, drums and vocals. In 1980, he singled- highhandedly coached and mentored his 7-piece band, The Boys, which consist of vocals, keyboard, guitar, bass, drums etc. in 1997, he performed with The Boys at at Europa, a chain of clubs, as a career. Vinnie also has more than 2 decades of teaching experience and prepared many students for their music examinations.

LINCOLN LIM

Lincoln has been working in the Singapore music scene in various capacities for the past 8 years, primarily as a performer, band leader, songwriter and music teacher. Heavily influenced by a myriad of genres, he has ventured into and is still actively seeking more ways to expand his knowledge in all kinds of music from Opera to Rock, Musical Theatre to Folk. Currently he is in the process of releasing his own solo singer-songwriter music and is running The Society, a jazz-pop band featuring some of the most gifted young musicians residing in Singapore.

LINCOLN LIM

Lincoln has been working in the Singapore music scene in various capacities for the past 8 years, primarily as a performer, band leader, songwriter and music teacher. Heavily influenced by a myriad of genres, he has ventured into and is still actively seeking more ways to expand his knowledge in all kinds of music from Opera to Rock, Musical Theatre to Folk. Currently he is in the process of releasing his own solo singer-songwriter music and is running The Society, a jazz-pop band featuring some of the most gifted young musicians residing in Singapore.

KENNETH TAN

 

Drum Teacher

 

Having previously studied at Lasalle College Of The Arts and having over a decade on his instrument, Kenneth has picked up numerous skillsets to be able to deliver a lively and meaningful performance. He has also immersed himself in genres such as funk, R&B, Hip-hop and Jazz in order to bring versatility in his music.

 

Kenneth graduated from Lasalle College Of The Arts with a Diploma in Music (Major in Drums).

 

He is a full time drum coach at Studio 72.
